ANIMATION
In collaboration with three wonderful friends, we participated in the Story Xperiental with PIXAR course and developed a story reel. Dive in to discover the behind-the-scenes of our animation!
The Planetary System as Humans
I wanted to highlight diverse physical, gender, and age characteristics through the unique personalities and visual identities of the characterized planetary system. By blending scientific principles with imaginative design, I've transformed celestial bodies into relatable entities. Each character is designed to reflect the planet's attributes while capturing the viewer's imagination.

Procreate
The IB Visual Arts Exhibition of my senior year inspired this animation. At first, I did not know what media I desired to use to express myself. There are some days when I feel haunted by my past selves. Some days, I want to shy away from aspects of myself that I was not proud of and start anew. I used this piece to reconcile these feelings to express my gratitude for all that I have been able to experience and learn because of my past experiences.
Love: In Color
Love: In Color is my first work-in-progress long-form animation. This animation follows Elise unraveling how 'love' doesn't reflect the stereotypes in society or social media. This short film celebrates the love of simple joys, friendships, family relations, and queer romance.
CONCEPT ART
The art style of this film evolved with the story. I experimented with developing styles to show the fluidity of Elsie's experience with different forms of love and work well with 2D animation.
CHARACTER ART
With this character design, shape and texture are influential. This film experiments majorly with the use of color as emphasis. Thus, texture creates intrigue for the character design compared to bold colors. Elise's wardrobe reflects her timidness, with a strand of hair always keeping something out of place, symbolizing her inner uncertainty and adding a layer of complexity to her character.
STORYBOARD
These storyboards capture the essence of the film’s opening scenes, focusing on visual storytelling and dynamic composition. The sequence begins with expansive establishing shots that set the scene and context, gradually transitioning to intimate close-ups that highlight key character emotions and interactions. This contrast between wide and close-up shots creates a layered narrative, drawing the audience deeper into the story and emphasizing pivotal moments with impact.
